The Grand Vin is the finest expression of our terroir of Roland La Garde. Working on the plot selection, each variety gives us the best of its potential to make a very nice wine with great aging potential of more than 20 years.

Varieties : 70% Merlot - 20% Cabernet Sauvignon - 10% Malbec

Age of the Vines : 35 years old average

Yield : 30HL/Ha

Grounds : Presence of clay-limestone grounds with clay silt changes to sandy-clay layers.

Vinification : Cold maceration 3 to 5 days before fermentation - Pumping over everyday - Temperature control by thermoregulation - Natural fermentation with natural yeasts.

Aging : 18 months in Barrels (30% New)

Tasting Notes : Behind the deep purple robe, almost black, we discover a nose combining red fruits brought by the Merlot and floral notes provided by the Malbec. After a sweet attack, the round and full flesh reveals a well balanced structure, marked by toasted notes, which extends into a final floral and fruity accents. The wealth of the Great Cellars of Bordeaux.

Aging Potential : 20 years and more

Tasting Advices : Can be matched with all red meats, French Southwestern dishes and cheese. Can be decanted an hour before tasting. Serve at 16-17°C.
