Located on two beautiful lands of northern Gironde at Blaye and Saint Seurin of Cursac, Château Roland La Garde and Château Sainte-Luce Bellevue are on the Blaye Cotes de Bordeaux appellation.

A beautiful mansion rebuilt in the nineteenth century overlooking the vineyard. A few steps, Roland’s hillock monitors the vines such as an ancestral vineyard keeper. The land of Château Roland La Garde is marked of history and gives to the men who cultivate it the will of excelling. Terroir, tradition and great wine blend well in this place. Bruno Martin, in continuation of what was started by his father, Olivier, was able to take full advantage of this vineyard which offered numerous predispositions. Nature of the soil, sunshine and a name to defend. This legacy of seven generations has a sense only ifyou appropriates it and this is what Bruno Martin did. Today, his son Guillaume, 8th generation, helps him and want to continue the work of their lands.

From the 25 hectares property formed by his father, Bruno Martin initiated a revolution since 1990 and is registered in modernity at the entrance of the XXI century. Eight years were needed to create a Grand Vin. But what a wine ! Château Roland La Garde - Grand Vin comes as the true heritage of the great wines of Bordeaux.

 

Château Roland La Garde now covers 29 hectares with vines of an average of twenty years old on a clay-limestone terroir. Cultivating 74 % of Merlot , 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Malbec, these varieties allow to produce a range of 3 red wines.

Bought in 2002 by Bruno Martin , Château Sainte-Luce Bellevue dominates the banks of the Gironde. Sainte Luce was a small fishing village attached to the town of Blaye in the nineteenth century. The church, founded in 1660 following a donation from the Duc of Saint Simon, has long been the seat of a brotherhood of tailors.

Located on a beautiful clay-limestone terroir, the vineyard is old and extends over 10 hectares of which 8.5 hectares are devoted to red (78% Merlot, 15 % Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec 7%) and 1.40 ha in white (80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Muscadelle). Under the direct influence of the river with its regulatory effect, bringing a mitigation of heatstroke and cooling for a better photosynthesis, the property produces structured and powerful wine with very fruity and sweet grapes. The aromas are very typical, fruits and spices. The frame of the wines is long and tightensuring a great aging potential (20 to 30 years).
